When G-O-O-G-L-E Made Saying Goodbye Easier

I had a long night last night with training. In fact, I was doing so much training I forgot to deliver a very important message to my friend and mentor, Alex Mandossian. He was going to leave Singapore today, and I couldn’t bring myself to call him at 2am in the morning. Anyhow, I drifted off to sleep and woke up this morning, and wondering how I ought to pass this message (it was together with my book, by the way). I knew he was going to be on a CX flight, so I headed off to Terminal 1.

It was Googling all the way after that – which flight, what time, which gate. It’s amazing what you can do with what you know. On the cab, I was visualizing seeing him in the queue at the CX counter. By the time I arrived, I looked at the counter and saw to my disappointment, only one group of people there. I thought it was going to be a long queue! Then, my eyes zoomed in and I saw them – Alex, Aimee, Brianna and Gabriel together. Boy!

I walked up and gave the man a great BIG hug and wished him and his family well. It’s going to be a long trip for them, and I hope they will make it safely.
