SEO Methods #1 – Fire in the Hole!
Explosively developing your Adsense sites is not a bad idea… what I mean is that you find ways to multiply the total number of sites available. I mean I’ve tested page generators, auto-blogging tools, even the latest blog-churning software that I orchestrated and created in-house.
The most important rule is: they all work.
Next most important rule is: you need to manage them
With the human tendency to desire instant gratification, Adsense publishing and SEO no longer go hand in hand as nicely. You could basically generate lots of traffic but the issue remains that you’re doing an unnatural thing. You need to balance your unnatural publishing methods with a more natural approach.
Explosive growth needs to take place on or offline. One of the strategies that is done is to build massive backlinks to your site. Now, I’ve tested software like Arelis and Webposition Platinum, with little effect. It’s really a human effort, and with that kind of effort, I’d rather think of multiple ways to get one-way links back to my site. As a result, the tried and tested approach is to use Articles. It’s a sure-fire method to get yourself noticed, but it is also a real fast way to degrade your reputation, if you write badly.
I can’t always be bothered with writing articles any more than I am interested to manually create blogs. It’s been fun testing, but for the sole purpose of generating some results. But boy did I really get interesting results. For specific search phrase “stuart tan”, there are about 24,100 indexed links. It wasn’t by chance, it was by hard work. The number of sites talking about me has been growing enormously, particularly due to the Article Writing strategy. But more important than that, it’s not the articles I write that is the point. It’s the way I submit them. With more and more submission software made available on the internet, you can boost your reputation and brand with good articles that add value.
For instance, I can write about SEO here, from a non-technical point of view. Even the simple strategies like article submissions are not exploited fully. I know many people are skeptical about how Google views optimization. Google is definitely getting smarter, and I’m certain the programmers visit sites like mine to figure out what the heck is happening. The fact is that some things are guaranteed to work. They only need a little more time or money. The fact is we hardly have either of those.
So, you need to ask yourself a very important question. When you use SEO explosively with multi-site generating software, is it for the machine or for the human? When you do human-based SEO, you will get interesting results – positive ones, almost, compared with just human optimization. In the good ol days, smart pages were the in thing and later on found to be a little grey. Yet, even in the present day, many optimization techniques require you to do a lot of on-page optimization that is extremely similar to smart pages. You just need to be smart doing it.
I figured if you submit 10 articles a day to 100 article sites, you will get another 1000 backlinks. Question: how many articles do you really want to write or spend money on?
I’ve realized a number of people do this – they use software to multiply their efforts. The repercussion is that these efforts are dwarfed by other approaches to bring traffic to the site. The most commonly missed is the power of the keyword. Like it or not, keywords are still your basic building block for success in SEO. You never optimize websites for the spiders. You optimize websites for people who are searching for something. The same principle goes into your articles. You have to build effective keywords to drive traffic to your site.
Having said that, my optimization seems to have worked mostly – with 6 out of 10 lists talking about my site on page 1 in Google. It really wasn’t difficult for my niche at least.
Recommendation: SEO should be a long-term strategy with constant growth for novices, and should you want to exploit search engine optimization fully, then you really need to be an expert. You need to know what Google likes and doesn’t like. Article submission is really kids play. Everyone uses it now.
What is the next step?
I’ll reveal that in my next post on SEO Methods #2!
