Internet Marketing Strategy

If you’re reading this, it
probably means that you want to develop a better idea about how to establish a
strong Internet marketing
strategy
to reach out to your audience.  The trouble is… it
sometimes is blended with technology and thinking. You see, it’s so common that
people have this instinctive fear of a technical development, or having to
logically process information that they abandon their online plans completely.
It’s the ostrich syndrome. Please don’t be like this.  I’d like you to
embrace the technology, and learn to become friends with it. I want you do
embrace logical thinking and become pals.

The concept of strategy is
really like method of conquering.  If you were an emperor attempting
to expand your empire, you would think of military strategy to overcome
and overwhelm your enemy
.  Likewise, in the world of Internet
marketing, the best way to get ahead of your competitors is to identify
strategies that help you to leapfrog what they have.

Consider the fact that any
Internet Marketing Strategy has to help YOU gain an advantage .

You could gain advantage in terms
of online branding. Some people call it mindshare. While it is
difficult to quantify the value of brands, it is not difficult for you to
quantify the value of your visitor.  If you’re visitor is willing to spend
$100.00 per visit, that’s $100.00 per visitor per visit.  If you had a
thousand visitors that generated you $100.00 each time they visited, you’d be
wealthy beyond imagination.  However, it is likely that their loyalty to
the brand is probably worth anything between a dollar to $10.00 per visitor .
If you had a thousand visitors, this would translate into $10,000.00 in total.
That’s a lot!

There are so many ways to create
online branding — e-mail marketing, article submissions, press releases, joint
ventures, teleseminar marketing, and I think the list can go on forever.
It’s not so much what is being done, but what quality it is being done at.

You could also gain advantage in
terms of search engine rankings.  Of course, this is provided that
though such rankings translate into a higher level of web traffic that comes to
your website.  Very often, search engine rankings also translates into a
higher online brand presence.

Another way to gain an advantage
is through the loyalty building.  Online, there are many ways in
which to establish a community so that loyalty is enhanced, Enforced, and
expanded. You could also create a loyal following simply by producing
information products that are highly popular and profitable.  One such
person who is done this is Rich
Schefren
, notably one of the most powerful thought leaders in Internet
marketing today.  He released a video free of charge that lasted about
close to 90 minutes as well as three reports which when compiled could easily
total in excess of a $197.00 selling price — and I doubt anyone would have
complained even if they had to pay. Forums and social sites
actually also increase loyalty powerfully. The reason why blogs have not taken
off to a brand new level is that the social function of blogs has not yet been
exploited the way it ought to be.

Speed and productivity is
also another very powerful way of influencing the advantage that you have over
any one of the competitors.  In order for this to happen, you will have to
establish a higher technological edge or a systems edge.  when I mean
technology, I mean productivity software.  If you could reduce the
amount of time you spend doing one thing, then you’d be doing things faster than
any of your competitors.  At the same time, if you could make everything
systematic
, it will multiply your ability to hire people who can do exactly
the same thing you and if you’re not around.

Learning is also a
productivity enhancer. If you learnt 10 times faster, you could probably move
faster, and know how to generate your tools better. As my good friend
Alex Mandossian
says, the
more you learn, the more you earn! Creative thinking is a skill that is
learnable. So is systems thinking. So is search engine optimization. Whatever
the case, you need to learn FAST. I’m talking reading a book a day if you needed
to.

Effective hiring.  As
we all know, it is virtually impossible to handle everything yourself.
This also means, you need to be open to the idea of hiring new stuff in order to
accomplish what you need to do.  In this sense, you need to be able to
recognize different competences that will then enable your company or
organization to fly.

Effective a outsourcing
Now, we all know about outsourcing and leveraging on low cost so that we can
create a huge amount of value .  The thing is this — most people do not
know how to outsource if actively.  If you know how to outsource, you know
very well that it comes from the principle of providing the highest possible
value .  If you produce $100.00 worth of work in an hour, you probably
wouldn’t give that up in order to do something that produced only $1.00 in an
hour.  In this sense, you need to know how much you are worth.  If
you’re worth $50.00 an hour, and that all was spent writing an article, you
literally created a cost area for yourself equivalent to $50.00.  If
however, you could get someone to write that same article are just $10.00, do
you realize how much you just saved?  Effective outsourcing also enables
you to speed up the process is if you already have a system in place for your
business.

In conclusion, the most important
impact of your internet marketing strategy is to pulverize the opposition. You
don’t just need to get more visitors to your site, you need to get more targeted
ones. More loyal ones. You don’t just need speed and productivity. You need to
have such speed that competitors have NO WAY of catching up with you. So… it
seems like it all boils down to competence and the ability to manage
an internet business. And my question is… have you found the right person,
competent enough to guide and coach you into building a rock-solid,
competition-proof business?
