This is typical of beginners. Many people who start out with Adsense FORGET that their responsibility is to generate TRAFFIC. With no traffic there is NO WAY you can generate any income from Adsense. You have to be clear about this. You can’t expect to build a site and then have people come to it without promoting it.

Promotion mechanisms include advertising, writing articles for article directories, and search engine optimization. If you are using SEO, you have to have a clear foundation of keywords first and the ability to research them. As a beginner, I do not recommend you start on SEO unless you have guidance from a good coach.
Alternatively, you can simply write articles and submit them to directories like www.ArticleCity.com. Remember, you should do this regularly. Don’t hope to just submit one article and get a million visits. It’s not logical.
You can also use something called a “Tell-A-Friend” campaign, by setting up an autoresponder form using reliable email marketing software.
Also, social traffic mechanisms can be easy to do as well – just add as many friends as you possibly can on a Friendster or MySpace account, then promote to these people in your inner circle. This takes time, but could be well worth it if you are diligent enough.
There are many traffic mechanisms. There’s no shortcut – you have to either do it or pay for it to get done.
