Creating A List

I think a lot of people will be interested in building a list of their own. However, to have a targeted list, it is essential for you to learn the overview and structure of your list. You have to build a better list by understanding why you are creating your list in the first place. That’s why it’s literally impossible for someone who starts in internet marketing to build a big list of say 30,000 within an extremely short span of time without consistent effort.

It also is not viable for you to have a big list if your list has little spending power. You need to understand the rationale for your list building efforts before you actually monetize from them. In my opinion, the fastest way to build a list is through direct contact with your audience. This often works if your geographical size is small like in Singapore. I run preview seminars so frequently that I am confident that this is the best way to keep in touch with my audience. This, however, is expensive. I do believe there are better ways to collect data online that are cheaper. You could do a joint venture, but you’d need to know how to launch a project first. The marketing requirements are important if you are going to do a joint venture because you need to benefit your joint venture partner as much as yourself.

Some people think this is riding on other people, and I think that’s absolutely true. In order to create your own brand, you ought to generate traffic using multiple other list building devices including viral marketing, classified advertisements, etc.

The most powerful I think is to generate offline traffic for online sales. It has worked for me and I do believe that with this kind of a list, it will give you better leverage to find joint venture partners.

Traditional affiliate marketing also helps to build lists through Google, so I highly recommend you use that approach as well. You will need an autoresponder software like Aweber, and then all you need to do is to start building compelling offers for people so they will register for your product and therefore leave you their contact details.
