This has important implications for your own search engine optimization efforts. If you don’t want people to grab your username, you’d better be there yourself in a couple of hours to rush for it.

So while you are figuring out who the best SEO instructor in the world could be, I’d drop a few names.

1. Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins of StomperNet
2. Kelvin Hui of Ambatch.com
3. Jeff Johnson of SuperAffiliateCoachingClub.com

Other than that, most SEOs only do, and probably can’t teach as well. Of course, I’m biased because these are the people I’m most familiar with. Maybe one day I can claim the title of “Best SEO Instructor In The World” through the results my students produce!

Example of a good expired domain = 5,000 pages indexed by Google. Don’t dream of finding these domains anymore. Several SEOs have already found them. Example of bad expired domain = 0 pages i.e. not indexed by Google at all.

Now, granted, Google is not really paying close attention to these domains anymore, and the biggest drawback is that when you have these links, you need to extract them and generate pages about them so that you can have the benefit. Plus, there are going to be some sites that remove your link so you don’t get the PR benefit.

Doesn’t matter. Most important is you already have a Google index. No paying, no extra hassle. Just update your site, put up a sitemap and you should be all right in terms of being found by Google Bot.

If you want to get a chance to get great domains, you must seek out foreign language sites. I found a Korean domain which had 13,800 pages indexed. Unfortunately, I don’t read or write Korean. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. I’m certain that there are many more in Japanese, Korean, Chinese websites that have expired.

Today’s idea is about seeking out incoming links for the purposes of SEO. I think many people who are doing affiliate marketing will miss this out solely because the SEO approach doesn’t always appeal to them, and therefore are happier doing PPC advertising.

While I don’t deny that SEO is tedious and often boring, it doesn’t always have to be that way. There are examples of how SEO can be easy, and link building leveraged.

One way is to hire someone full time to do your SEO. This will include link building, article submissions, link exchange programs and the like.

The other way is to get yourself a web-based software program created or a theme created that you distribute for free with your anchor text (the words that you want to rank highly for) in the the program or theme. If this is useful, many people will actually be interested in it, and use it for their own benefit.

The daily routine here is actually in the first method. You need to find good directories to do submissions, and I talk about how it’s less effective now in SEO in my audio training located here. Still, just because it’s less effective doesn’t mean you can’t still use it. I know I do, but because it’s so tedious, I often find it a chore to actually do it myself.

I would like to suggest that SEO is a daily routine and if you want to do it, you need to take some time to optimize your site consistently. Traffic can then stabilize over a longer period of time.

Most people would ignore a fantastic book like that, but I’d encourage you to go get it from your nearest bookstore.

I think my answer to the question of “traffic” lies in the Long Tail. A number of people I know are actually tapping into the long tail to get traffic. Massive amounts of traffic, so huge that you will laugh in order to get a hold of yourself.

Long tail keywords (defined as keywords that are more nichified or market specific) far outnumbers “hit” keywords. This means that if you spent X effort getting 1000 searches for a short head keyword, you really could have been spending just X/100 effort getting 100 searches for a long tail keyword. Your effort would have been reduced by 10 times.

The amazing thing is that I’ve been optimizing for several keywords, and the jump in the number of page 1 and page 2 rankings I’ve received on Yahoo and Google are definitely encouraging. Utilizing the Long Tail to rank and generate traffic is now a favorite for me for sure.

At the moment, the contest has elicited quite a nice following, with many people starting out. I was actually planning an SEO education MP3. So far, it seems like I might be able to pull it off only next week when I meet Kelvin in Hong Kong. Well… have fun, you guys.

John Reese sent me an email broadcast regarding new phenomena on the internet. Apparently, Google is switching their goal posts, and will lead to Internet Marketer Mass Hysteria.

Basically what he mentioned is that Google may either be clamping down on click fraud and booting people out of their Adwords system (or forcing them to – that’s why some of you experienced SUPER high cost per click), OR they are planning to launch a Cost-Per-Action model, which is to say that you will now pay for Opt-Ins.

Well, those who rely on Adwords to drive their opt-ins will be in severe panic, but there are many ways to skin a cat, and fortunately, I’m very happy where I am right now. You can’t imagine how ridiculous it would be for Google to stab itself in the foot.

The fastest way is to tune in to three of the most highly reliable sources of traffic for your opt in lists.

#1 – Search Engine Optimization

If you use SEO, it will definitely assist you in getting search engine rankings, although I know most of you will struggle with it. I am in the process of writing (well… recording) an SEO guide, hopefully, you will be able to see it before my next flurry of training assignments falls on me.

#2 – Article Marketing.

#3 – Offline Marketing!

You focus so much online that you forget that traditional media WIN OUT FLAT! I’ve my entire subscriber base created from word of mouth marketing AS WELL AS advertising and the like. Don’t forget offline marketing. I will be discussing some of this in my teleseminars and how you can use it to brand yourself.

BONUS #4 – Building High Traffic Sites.

If you are smart, you will invest up to two years cultivating HIGH TRAFFIC sites. Build a useful site for large numbers and then climb the search rankings OVER TIME. By the time you are done at the end of one year, you will have traffic that is worth talking about. I will talking about my Traffic Site theory in a teleseminar one day…
