Indonesia Marketers Picking Up

I was surfing and realized that Indonesia is starting to wildly pick up on the internet marketing track because of its need to get out into the global market. Very interesting, because I’ve always thought that Indonesia would be much further back in terms of language and technology. Seems like I might be heading back to Jakarta on a more regular basis!

Anyone from Indonesia, internet marketing is going to be a big hit there, I would highly recommend that you keep in touch with this blog and the rest of the information on the main portal. Let me know if you are intending or have started targeting a market in Indonesia – it will be an interesting experiment.

Just read an interesting article that is relevant to my interests.

This quote jumped out at me:

“In Asia, newly-wealthy women are discovering the enfranchising delights of discretionary shopping, and are approaching routine shopping as fun rather than duty.” Female purchasing decisions were particularly dominant in the skin care and cosmetics sectors, while men dominate all purchases of cigars and camcorders.

Do bear in mind the power of gender bias in your copywriting and your positioning. It’s extremely important for you to be persuasive to the right group of people using the right approach.
