(1) fills a need
(2) exceeds expectations
(3) produces results.

If your product is unable to do these things, you will have a crappy product and something that people will ask for a refund for. So do things right the first time around!

Next, once you have satisfied all the criteria for an excellent product, I want you to start looking at your website. Most people don’t look at websites and optimize the user experience. User experience will vary based on your purpose, so keep focusing on what you want your user to feel. They must have a sense of awe and pride in being on your website, based on the business model you have created. This will require tweaking and updating. People must feel that what you have has been made for them to use. That is what makes them come back over and over.

Finally, you must look at your marketing and traffic approaches. Kelvin Hui recently launched the Traffic Manuscript, which is something you ought to get yourself. It outlines strategy instead of tactics, which is important, even for an experienced internet marketer. Traffic also requires you to apply common sense knowledge about marketing. If your marketing is not working, you need a new strategy, not increased spending!

So, build your product first. If you don’t know how, the Internet Marketing Academy is coming soon, and you should register to take part in this as quickly as you can. At the end of IMA, you’ll have a product ready to be sold. What goes into the product is important – you have to have a great idea and benefit that can be communicated simply to your end buyer.

Next, you have to build a site that is convincing. That means adding functions to your site that make it positive for the user experience. Here’s a list of what people find useful on a site:

ease of navigation
clear instructions
less distractions
clean color scheme
user functionality
credibility devices
effective content (dependent on website purpose)

Finally, start driving traffic based on the optimal channel you need to get all the traffic you want coming back over and over. Channel based traffic strategies are seldom talked about, but here are some ideas:

If you have a saturated channel, use a differentiated message
If you have a saturated channel, use a different channel
Use an underestimated channel
Use a synergistic combination of channels
Create your own channel
Borrow and launder someone’s channel (traffic laundering)

I was intrigued by how simple this marketing strategy was, but is currently
being used widely and can be considered one of the best ways to market online
right now. I believe that people who are interested to leapfrog the rat race
into internet riches will want to know this expert strategy largely because it’s
so simple for newbies to implement.

First of all, you build a product that is extremely comprehensive. I’m not
interested in the excuses you might have for building products. If you don’t
know how, then you really should attend the
Internet Marketing Academy! Product creation need not be painful, and it
really should not be a lousy product either.

Once you have the product ready in a market of people who are ready to buy,
then you just need to select the fastest channels. The fastest way I know is to
head up to Google and find the top 10 listed sites and contact them. You may not
know this, but often, people’s contact numbers are actually listed on
www.Alexa.com or even
www.WhoIs.sc. Call them, introduce yourself
and then you should have a list of about 10 to 20 people. You really should
offer then more than just a 50% deal – possibly up to 75%. Just know that when a
large behemoth of emails gets sent out, your income goes up straight away.

Then, make sure you take that money and re-invest it properly all over again.
I believe very strongly that if you want to establish a good, credible presence,
you need people around you to do that. Good people.

The Sharpest Tools In The Internet Marketing Shed

I have many tools. Too many, some may complain. But you may realize that my
biggest asset is NOT the tools, it’s my BRAIN. To develop your brain, you will
have to invest in knowledge. In order to digest that knowledge, you must
definitely develop your learning capabilities. Learning skills, as you might
know, is my forte, and is the single most important reason why I was able to
break into the internet marketing space in under 3 months. If you want to just
jump into a market space that is extremely crowded, you must know how to
research your target. Look at top sites. Article directories. Anyplace that
allows you to gather solid information about the market (even forums) and you
will understand what the market wants.

Then, this is the time for you to innovate. Once again, brain juice. It never
takes huge, excessive effort for anyone who is interested in learning how to
master their mind. All you need to do is to increase the amount of learning
about your brain. Things like innovation skills, creativity, mind mapping and
related things that dozens of people have learn are really key to your gradual
brain development. There’s nothing like overloading your brain muscle, then
suffering from brain cramp after.

You need to develop your mental tools – your thinking tools. 

Learn About Your JV Partners

The worst thing I’ve found is someone emailing me and calling me "Jane". They
know nothing about me, and have no idea what I’m doing. You need to get to know
who your JV partners are, and start to get yourself involved in their agenda.
Find out what they need, then offer to assist them and provide them with some
kind of value.

Do not waste someone else’s time. Don’t tell them "I’ll be happy to help
you". Tell them exactly what you can do for them, and then let them consider it.
If you say things like "let me know if I can help you" or "I want to help you -
what do I do". Do the ground work for them and then volunteer and put yourself
on the line. Commit to your promise, and then deliver.

If you find that there is something that your JV partner needs, then you
really ought to ensure that this is done – be it creating a product on their
behalf, or anything else like that. I definitely believe that anyone who is
starting any kind of marketing will know that a product creates value. The value
that’s generated from sincerity and effort will pay of huge heaps… only if you
are willing to walk that extra mile.

Conclusion – Start now!

Yeah, you say you can’t learn fast. You have to pick up the skills now.

Yeah, you say you know nuts about marketing. You have to pick up the skills
now!

You might even claim you aren’t a smart person. Well, if you keep thinking
that, you might just get it, right?

Take heed – the internet marketing world values information. The new age of
information has economies and government bodies that value information far more
than gold itself. If you are in the position of generating useful and effective
content, then you will gain far more credibility than anyone else. I’d even
challenge you to take the next 3 months simply on
info product development. If you want to propose a JV with me, plan the leg

STEP #1 – Build a site.

If you want to build a site, it’s dead easy. You could probably do this in your sleep. Just remember to use a free resource if you don’t know how to do any HTML stuff. Oh, and even if you do, just check this resource out. It’s REALLY COOL – especially great help for people who are in the stone ages where the HTML and website coding is concerned. In any case, a blog should do just fine.

Come on – it’s not THAT hard to do. You can follow some of the videos here - best of all I made them for FREE. Took me a painful amount of time to structure it and render them, but this is supposed to be a community!

STEP #2 – Search relevant keywords

Remember to go to http://Inventory.Overture.com to get some keywords. If you are hard core, you would buy the keyword software that I use. It’s not cheap, mind you, but saves me the hassle of thinking. Lolz. Always remember to have a keyword that is NON COMPETITIVE. We talked about Results on Google and Searches on Overture in our previews. If you’ve missed it, I won’t be having many for long. Step #3 – Generate Content

If you know how much effort went into this website, you’d know how much content to create. Essentially, you want targeted content for people to continue to visit your site. Simple thing to do when creating content is to partner up with a writer or pay a ghost writer at www.Elance.com to get your writing done. I’ve also heard a lot about www.Guru.com but I don’t use them… yet. Now… I’m talking about really solid content here, not just cut and paste stuff. If you don’t know where to get them, you can search the public domain as well as article directories. PLEASE do yourself a favor and modify the content so that search engines won’t count them as duplicates.

Step #4 – Search an affiliate network

I suggest you start off with niches available in www.ClickBank.com, www.CJ.com or even www.Amazon.com. Register with them, keep the passwords handy and start pasting some RELATED items in your website/blog.

Step #5 – Continue To Build Traffic

It’s laughable that people generate a site then expect in the next 2 hours to have an avalanche of money coming in. IT DOENS’T WORK THAT WAY. Invite people to visit the site. If your site is junk to them, FIND OUT WHY and improve. If you just dedicate around 10-15 minutes of your time to get people into your site and make the environment safe and friendly, people will come back again.

Step #6 - Get an autoresponder

Now, I’m not privvy to teach this, but when you get this autoresponder, you will learn from the videos that are there. It’s straightforward and after you’re used to it, you’ll be doing it like clockwork. Practice makes perfect.

Why you need this is simple. If you don’t use it, you will end up with passing visitors who won’t get a chance to know that you’ve updated your site. Also, relevant information will lead to you understanding what your visitor wants. Thus, you can send emails and send them to an affiliate link, thereby making commissions off of that.

I know it might be difficult to visualize everything right now, but hey – this is as simple as it gets. Affiliate marketing is suitable for anyone, any age, any race, religion, interest group… you name it, as long as you have a way to communicate, you can make money from affiliate marketing.

Now – I’ve done a quick calculation here. I spent over US$25,000 in my first year in internet marketing. I spent US$40,000 this being my second year. Lol – and you are getting this for free.

Listen, I’ll challenge you very simply. If you get this done, I’ll list you on my site at www.SingaporeHallOfFame.com and recognize you as a profitable internet marketer and feature you in an interview so that you can get even more traffic to your site. My criteria? A solid site, a monthly (3 months sustained) of at least S$1000 in extra income from Affiliate Marketing. That’s it!

Not only will you get the recognition, I’ll know that you’re serious, then show you how to get to the $5,000 a month level. After all, no point convincing skeptics out there who don’t believe even a dollar can be made online.

Why am I doing this? Look – let’s be realistic. If I don’t have to spend all my time convincing you, then it’s simpler for me. I’d rather work more with you guys than with the people who are total skeptics. It takes less effort.

You see, when I first began, I always wondered how people could jumpstart their online businesses so quickly. I also wondered why it was that only some could do it and many struggled. It was as if there was this black box inside their business model. After all, people would repeat their espoused process, then end up with results that were completely different from theirs.

I run a training business that I could say is fairly successful. But we took around four years to build this business because there are many things in the business that required us to look at ouselves. Then, as we ‘evolved’, we had to slowly push part of the responsibility to middle management. Middle management was important because without it, our ability to grow would be severely impeded.

Yet, I find that most people have this ridiculous dream that building a business without properly planning roles and tasks… I mean honestly, do you think you can make a million dollars in an online business knowing how vast the scope of work is? Even building a blog or setting up a website can be tedious! The question is, how detailed are you in looking in the strategic plan for your business?

One of my idols is Peter Senge. He is the author of the book The Fifth Discipline. In my opinion, that is one of the most powerful concepts I’ve learnt. It essentially talks about systemic thinking and how different things connect with each other in a systemic relationship. In your online business, you have to be clear about the system that you are operating, if not the business will not be operated by you: you will be just another puppet, putting yourself back into the same employment situation you were in before – you would have created for yourself another JOB.

So much for financial freedom – now you can call it “financial freedumb”.

Building a solid business plan comes straight from the conceptualizing stage of business. If you have the idea, you need to hone it. Not just that, you even have to look at competition and see where they are headed. Competitors are moving targets – most of the time, they are progressive as well. You need to look at strategic models of planning and put yourself into it so you can enhance your business for the long term.

John Reese sent me an email broadcast regarding new phenomena on the internet. Apparently, Google is switching their goal posts, and will lead to Internet Marketer Mass Hysteria.

Basically what he mentioned is that Google may either be clamping down on click fraud and booting people out of their Adwords system (or forcing them to – that’s why some of you experienced SUPER high cost per click), OR they are planning to launch a Cost-Per-Action model, which is to say that you will now pay for Opt-Ins.

Well, those who rely on Adwords to drive their opt-ins will be in severe panic, but there are many ways to skin a cat, and fortunately, I’m very happy where I am right now. You can’t imagine how ridiculous it would be for Google to stab itself in the foot.

The fastest way is to tune in to three of the most highly reliable sources of traffic for your opt in lists.

#1 – Search Engine Optimization

If you use SEO, it will definitely assist you in getting search engine rankings, although I know most of you will struggle with it. I am in the process of writing (well… recording) an SEO guide, hopefully, you will be able to see it before my next flurry of training assignments falls on me.

#2 – Article Marketing.

#3 – Offline Marketing!

You focus so much online that you forget that traditional media WIN OUT FLAT! I’ve my entire subscriber base created from word of mouth marketing AS WELL AS advertising and the like. Don’t forget offline marketing. I will be discussing some of this in my teleseminars and how you can use it to brand yourself.

BONUS #4 – Building High Traffic Sites.

If you are smart, you will invest up to two years cultivating HIGH TRAFFIC sites. Build a useful site for large numbers and then climb the search rankings OVER TIME. By the time you are done at the end of one year, you will have traffic that is worth talking about. I will talking about my Traffic Site theory in a teleseminar one day…

This is a very good lesson for everyone – just start giving fantastic content over a period of time in order to generate solid opt-ins and build a loyal member base.

“How to select a good and viable affiliate product that can earn money and run an adwords campaign to promote it, without having to set up a website first?”

Alvin Toh, up and coming internet marketer and student of Stephen Pierce; Kelvin Hui, who needs no real introduction, Patric Chan, the guy I wrote to you about in an earlier post, and me!

We were just sitting down and chatting. Patric also asked me about the kind of stuff I do, and I mentioned the way I teach people – using three levels of learning as a gauge. The first level of learning is the What learning. Without the foundational level, people won’t be able to get by, and will get confused. The second level is the Why learning. With this, we can identify purpose and intent. This can pave our way to the third level of learning which is the How learning.

Unfortunately, too many people jump to level three without one and two. Which is also Kelvin’s frustration. Some people want $1000 a day from Adsense by putting up a blog, which is impossible. People who are lazy to explore and learn don’t understand the implications of Search Engine Optimization. Some who are hardworking find the wrong people to learn from!

So in any case, while we had a serious discussion or two, it was obvious that the guys were being very well behaved – all milkshakes, huh!
