However to learn it well, you also need to learn some basic HTML codes to be
able to do minor tweaks yourself on the templates (especially for

This is typical of beginners. Many people who start out with Adsense FORGET that their responsibility is to generate TRAFFIC. With no traffic there is NO WAY you can generate any income from Adsense. Promotion mechanisms include advertising, writing articles for article directories, and search engine optimization. If you are using SEO, you have to have a clear foundation of keywords first and the ability to research them. As a beginner, I do not recommend you start on SEO unless you have guidance from a good coach.

Alternatively, you can simply write articles and submit them to directories like www.ArticleCity.com. Remember, you should do this regularly. Don’t hope to just submit one article and get a million visits. It’s not logical.

You can also use something called a “Tell-A-Friend” campaign, by setting up an autoresponder form using reliable email marketing software.

Also, social traffic mechanisms can be easy to do as well – just add as many friends as you possibly can on a Friendster or MySpace account, then promote to these people in your inner circle. This takes time, but could be well worth it if you are diligent enough.

There are many traffic mechanisms. There’s no shortcut – you have to either do it or pay for it to get done.

Targeted list building requires of you the ability to drive traffic and to collect emails of potential prospects through an autoresponder. The strategies for list building are all in the traffic product offered by Michael Cheney.

You will have to have some kind of opt-in offer (usually free), as well as a series of follow-ups after that.

As a beginner, you will probably find the most difficulty in using the autoresponder system. For that matter, when you purchase this autoresponder, you will have guided videos on how to use it. Spend a day or two getting familiar with it.

You must have a website in order to use an autoresponder system. Other mailing list systems can work, but unfortunately, many create problems for your domain as you run the risk of being blacklisted if you send mass mails.

Build a relationship with your list by doing a little more for your list than is expected of you. Keep topping their charts of likeability, and that means learning how to invest in your list.

This is the best answer: any amount that you need to be successful.

If you are a newbie, you probably want to “dabble”. It’s like just put aside some money (usually no more than US$100 a year) to buy a hosting account and play with it.

The truth is, you will need to set aside a budget. When everything adds up, you either have money, or you spend time. Money spent could exceed US$50,000 just for you to set up an online business. This could include a domain name, a web host (or a series of them) alongside other seminars you may have to attend to gain the basic foundation in this business.
I’d expect that you spend no less than US$5,000 in your first year alone. A typical investment should exceed US$10,000 in your first year, as start up capital for a real internet business. This would increase your likelihood of success within a shorter span of time.

Most people starting out who do not have this amount to spend will have to trade speed for time. This means you need to spend a longer time learning (because you are not spending), but you also need to constantly be putting your effort into ‘doing’. Testing new strategies can help you quite a fair bit and help you gain experience. Unfortunately, it’s likely that you will take anything between 2 years or more to get somewhere decent in terms of income.
My recommendation is to invest prudently. A standalone workshop can help aid your progress, so I would recommend that you join in workshops such as the Internet Marketing Academy. This is geared for beginners only.
