Any of you who have followed my progress since I began would know that copywriting is my ’secret weapon’.
It’s true that I’d rather not reveal too much about the way I do copywriting, but you know, the most frustrating thing that I can see is people who are writing but can’t get their message across persuasively.
Copywriting is a survival skill. After all, if you can persuade someone, you can make that person buy. It’s about the way you use words. How you tweak the words to affect emotions. It’s a deliberate thing but if you learn it at first, it may seem to methodical. In reality, if you really believe in something a lot, you will already be convincing people about the benefits, and that is what sells – personability and benefits.

I was watching Troy again over the holiday and really worked myself up because the legendary character Achilles was pursuing not safety but fame for all time. As he marshalled his Myrmidon army, he asked “Do you know what is beyond that beach?”
Most of us would make bad landings in the first place. The beach in my opinion, represents the entry point for you in the internet marketing world. Some people complain that what they learn in books and seminars are common sense. Yet, they fail to put this common sense into practice. They complain that life is bad for them. Yet, they fail to take responsibility for their lack of action.

We went into the session where Derek covered the basics of Pay-Per-Click search engines, namely Yahoo and Google. I was surprised that they covered Yahoo first instead of Google. But, it makes sense. Even Perry Marshall, the Adwords expert, has a huge information base about how to use Yahoo Search Marketing. I’d recommend that pay-per-click users start to check YSM as a means to do PPC as well.
Also, something he covered that I often emphasize – free content. That’s why this blog and community are so important. Get a hold of the content and then proceed to either offer them to article directories or allow them to be syndicated. You can also check the recent newsletter that I put up in the member’s area on the main site.
